. The board of directors of the Village Ambulance Service in Williamstown has elected Anna Flynn Doerle of Williamstown, member service officer and teller supervisor for the Greylock Federal Credit Union, to a two-year term on the board. Doerle will serve as the board's liaison with the Williamstown, Hancock and New Ashford communities, which comprise the service's primary coverage area for emergency medical transportation. In other business, the board authorized the purchase of a new ambulance, which is expected to be delivered in July, and also approved moving forward with plans to equip all three ambulances with portable computers that will communicate via a wireless computer network with North Adams Regional Hospital, enabling the hospital to know what treatment to prepare for as a patient arrives at the emergency room door. The system will also involve the ambulance services in North Adams and Adams.

. Berkshire Creative Economy Council of Pittsfield has appointed Liz Thompson as its first president, effective April 7. Thompson will begin her work to fulfill Berkshire Creative's mission of economic development and job growth in the creative sector by concentrating on three top priorities: to organize and further engage the Berkshire creative business community; to advocate for creative investment and partnership between government, private and not-for-profit sectors; and to deepen the Berkshires' brand as a national center for creative industry. Thompson has been a member of the Berkshire community since 1979 and a full-time resident for the past four years. She served as executive director of Jacob's Pillow from 1979 to 1990.

. Berkshire Health Systems has appointed Gina Cinelli Birchall, Dennis J. Hogan, A. King Francis and Paul E. Raverta to the BHS board of trustees. Birchall, vice president of underwriting at Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America, practiced law for three years in Springfield before joining Berkshire Life as an attorney in 1998. Hogan, manager of marketing and sales for Berkshire Gas Co., is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing programs for natural gas delivery products and services to residential and industrial clients for Berkshire Gas and also manages the commercial/industrial and residential sales force. King Francis, senior vice president of Wachovia Securities, previously served as a financial consultant with First Albany Corp. and was manager of the Pittsfield office for nearly 20 years. Raverta, president of Berkshire Community College since September 2005, holds a doctorate in higher education administration from Boston College and served for more than 30 years at Holyoke Community College prior to his appointment at BCC. Under his leadership at BCC, donations to the BCC Foundation have doubled, the largest grant in the history of the institution has been received and a downtown center in partnership with Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts has been established.

. Dr. Nidhi Aggarwal has joined the Hospitalist team that provides inpatient care at Berkshire Medical Center and Fairview Hospital. Aggarwal is board-certified in internal medicine and most recently served as a primary care physician with Lakewood Medical Associates in Lakewood, Ohio. She received her medical degree from Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College in India and completed her residency training at St. Vincent Charity Hospital/St. Luke's Medical Center in Cleveland.
