PITTSFIELD -- United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County’s 50th annual telethon will be broadcast live on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel with a performance by Williamstown folk rock duo the "Billsville Boys," featuring Dave Archibald and Ron Gallagher, parents of disabled children served by UCP.
For the second year in a row the telethons honorary Chairman is Daniel E. Bosley, former state representative and principal of Dan Bosley Consulting Services. Last year $36,675 was raised to support the organization’s programs. One hundred percent of the funds raised go to support assistive technology, children’s programming and basic needs and emergency support to over 1,500 individuals and families. UCP has dedicated itself to offering support and advocacy for any individual, regardless of disability, to pursue a fulfilling, self-determined, high-quality community life - a life without limits. The UCP mission is to advance the independence, productivity and citizenship of Berkshire County residents with disabilities.

The telethon will be televised simultaneously on Pittsfield Community Television’s Channel 16, on Northern Berkshire Community Television Corp.’s Channel 15 and on Community Television for the Southern Berkshires’ Channel 16.
The Billsville Boys started performing at the annual UCP telethon six years ago. Each year they perform a set of meaningful songs written by their favorite artists from the 1960s and 70s. In addition to the "Billsville Boys" performance at 4 p.m. the telethon will feature children’s entertainment, educational clips about UCP services and special guests from the greater Berkshire community.
Telethon hosts include the team of Ron Gallagher of Williamstown, who is the Western Mass. Director for the Mass Commission for the Blind regional offices, and Paul Hutchinson, retired Adams town clerk. Returning to host additional telethon segments is David Winchester of WSBS; and newcomer Cheryl Adams of WUPE radio.
