WILLIAMSTOWN -- Do you spend a lot on heat and still feel cold?

On Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Wild Oats Market is hosting an informal talk on how to reduce heating bills and still stay warm and comfortable, led by Cynthia Grippaldi from the Center for EcoTechnology in Pittsfield.

Cynthia will discuss basic building science and share various ways to make your home more energy efficient, including insulation, air sealing and economical alternatives to window replacement.

She will also discuss ice dams, a common problem in this climate, and how to reduce their occurrence through more efficient home energy solutions.

Workshop participants will also learn about financial incentives currently available to achieve these goals. Massachusetts residents will have the opportunity sign up for a state-wide program sponsored by National Grid and other utilities companies to receive a free energy assessment of their home.

This is a basic energy efficiency assessment and is especially useful in gauging energy performance and areas for improvement based on the unique characteristics of the home. Additional energy incentives and rebates for Massachusetts residents will be covered in the workshop.

This workshop is free and open to all. Please bring all questions and concerns about home energy performance, as the workshop will allow time for Q&A and sharing. Also, bring along
