NORTH ADAMS -- Mill City Productions announced audition dates for its upcoming production of the classic children’s story, "James and the Giant Peach" from the book by Roald Dahl and dramatized by Richard R. George.
The production will be directed by Liz Urban. A magical peach! An imprisoned boy! Insect friends! An incredible journey! In this amazing adventure, James Henry Trotter enters a gigantic, magical peach, and has a wild and surreal cross-world adventure with six insects he meets.
An adaptation of the 1961 children’s book, this production is sure to delight both children and adults alike. Auditions will be held on Friday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Mill City Theatre in Building 4N (next to the Visitor’s Center) of the Western Gateway Heritage State Park. Adults of all ages and experience levels are invited to audition. Auditioners will be asked to read scenes from the play; no prepared monologues are necessary.
Rehearsals will begin during the last week of February with performances scheduled for April 19, 21, 26 and 28.
