WILLIAMSTOWN -- Bring friends and family to celebrate maple season, mud season and waning winter at Williamstown Rural Lands’ Winter Open House at Sheep Hill a conservation property and the headquarters of the WRLF, on Saturday, March 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. Activities will include an animal tracks and winter ecology hike, and sledding and snowshoeing on the hill if snow returns to the Berkshires in time.
Inside the farmhouse there will be seasonal craft activities, and maple treats to celebrate the maple syrup season.
Leslie Reed-Evans, Executive Director of the WRLF, describes the Open House as an opportunity for people to become acquainted with the WRLF, its Sheep Hill property and other conservation lands and trails, and its nature and cultural education programs. Reed-Evans says "Winter is a great time to get outside and explore, whether there’s snow or not. This is an opportunity to experience nature in its quiet season."
The event is open to all ages, with a suggested donation of $3. The WRLF is a non-profit, member-supported land conservation trust dedicated to preserving the rural New England character of Williamstown and its surroundings.
