BENNINGTON, Vt. -- Each Tuesday and Friday afternoon during July and August, from 1 to 4 p.m., Bennington Museum presents family-friendly activities in and around the museum. These activities are open to all and are included with regular museum admission. As always, there is no admission fee for children and students under the age of 18., and reservations are not required.

Explore the belongings of a Revolutionary War soldier in the Battle Gallery.
Tuesday, July 16 and Friday, July 19
Try your hand with writing the old-fashioned way using a quill and ink in the Grandma Moses Schoolhouse.

View the special exhibition, Southwestern Vermont and the Civil War, and get a hands-on look at objects similar to those on display.

Make pictures with light using "sun print" paper. Then check out the exhibit of larger-scale cyanotypes by local artist, Tom Fels, on view in the Ada Paresky Education Center. (This activity depends on there being some sunshine. )

It is the Year of the Catamount in Bennington, so here is your chance to learn more about this animal and make a Catamount paw print to bring home.

Enjoy our new permanent exhibition, Gilded Age Vermont, and have an opportunity to try out a stereoscope that was made right here in Bennington.

Use our world-famous collection of paintings by Grandma Moses as your inspiration to create a Moses-style felt board "painting." Have a picture taken of you and your family with your work of art so you can continue to enjoy it even after you leave.
The Bennington Museum is located at 75 Main St. (Route 9), The museum is open seven days a week through October, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and students over 18.
