NORTH ADAMS - The Annual North Adams Open Studios will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 to 6 p. m., and Sunday, Oct. 20, from 10 to 4 p. m. North Adams Open Studios gives the public the opportunity to see where artists live and create their work, both the usual and the unusual. Artists will be showing their work and their creative process throughout North Adams; in studios, galleries and other locations throughout the city.
Live/work spaces in the historic Eclipse Mill will be open to the public, visitors can tour the studios of River Hill Pottery, Dawn Nelson, Beth Davis, Betty Vera, Irving Slavid, Liz Cunningham, Stacey Hetherington, Sarah Sutro, Marjorie Minkin, Michelle Jenson, Jane Herman, Mary Paddy, Tamera Kay and Grover Askins, as well as other art displayed at the Eclipse Mill Gallery and Brill Gallery.
This year 107 Main St. will serve as a pop-up gallery providing space to artists who do not have studios.
Painters William Beattie, Ghetta Hirsch, Karen Andrews, Carol Keindl, John Richards, and David Zaig, a long with photographer Dan Morgan, wood carver Wes Pecor, potter Sergio Demo, jewelry artist Mary Weissbrodt and mixed media artist Laurie Goddard will be setting up temporary studios for the weekend.
Just down the street attendees can see a working printing press at PRESS Gallery. Next store at Gallery 51 works by Eliza O. Barrios an inter-disciplinary artist based in San Francisco will be on display. In addition, Martha Flood will welcome visitors to her design studio on Eagle Street.

Offered to the public one weekend each October since 2005, North Adams Open Studios offers a unique opportunity to see the places in which artists create and gain a behind-the-scenes look into the artistic community of North Adams. =A0 This year's Open Studios brings back focus on artist's workspace and the creative process. Artists will be in their studios to answer questions and give demonstrations throughout the Open Studios Weekend.
