I just wanted to take minute and congratulate all the graduates in the class of 2013.
Whether you are about to step up to the next level from high school, or enter the "real world" from college, I can only offer you one piece of advice: Never give up on your dreams.
I know it may sound cliché, but it really is true. Don't let yourself get bogged down with the burdens that may come with entering the working world. Maybe "burdens" is a strong word.
From experience, and hindsight, I think the burdens of high school and college, and the burdens surrounding both, are infinitely greater.
Yes, paying taxes really stinks, paying a mortgage (as I am about to find out) really stinks, as well as the peripheral bills that come with home ownership.
But, and I can't stress this enough, I wouldn't trade all those things for a chance to return to parental rule, school schedules and, of course, homework.
Well, now that I feel like every adult that I ever hated telling me all those things, I will leave you with this - be grateful that so many people are looking out for you now, because it won't always be that way.
Yes, your parents will still love and help you, and teachers still offer guidance, but for a lot of you, you are now on your own, and that is the greatest freedom you can get.
