PITTSFIELD -- The Berkshire Music School is presenting special performances to wrap up fall sessions of the Cabaret Workshop and Jazz Ensemble. Both performances are free and open to the public.
On Monday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., the Adult Cabaret Workshop will give its final performance of the 2012 fall session at Gateways Inn, 51 Walker Street in Lenox. The Cabaret Workshop is led by Sherri James Buxton, vocal coach, and is accompanied by Bob Shepherd. Members of the fall class who will be performing are Lynn Arseneau, Rene DeCandia, Paul Houston, Karen Ketcham, Jane Rosen, Laura Rosenthal and Ellen Weiden. On Monday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m., the student Jazz Ensemble will give its final performance of the 2012 fall session at Mission Bar and Tapas, 438 North Street in Pittsfield. The Jazz Ensemble is directed by Andy Wrba and includes Alex Pizzonia on drums, Mark Palardy and Sam Landes on piano, Paul Celebi on saxophone and Ben Foley on guitar. A number of student recitals, all free and open to the public, will take place in the Taft Recital Hall, 30 Wendell Ave. in downtown Pittsfield.
Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m., will feature students from the studios of Dave Bartley and Kristen Tuttman, piano,
Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m. will feature students from the studio of Alice Spatz, doublebass. Saturday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. will feature students from the studios of Charles Marshall, Chris Oberfield and Jean Stackhouse, piano. A 2 p.m. recital will feature voice and piano students from the studio of Bonnie McCubbin. Monday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m., will feature more piano students from the studio of Jean Stackhouse.
