NORTH ADAMS -- The spring 2013 "Green Living" seminars at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will continue on Thursday, March 21, at 5:30 p.m. in Murdock 218 with a lecture titled "Shared Streets." This lecture will be presented by Dr. Norman Garrick, professor of civil engineering at the University of Connecticut. Departing from the traditional philosophy of how transportation systems are designed, Garrick will discuss the idea of how "shared streets" can safely incorporate navigation by pedestrians, bikes, and cars in the same space.

Garrick specializes in the planning and design of urban transportation systems, including transit, streets and highways, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities, especially as they relate to sustainability, place making and urban revitalization.

The public is invited to attend this free series. The series will continue through April 25.
