NORTH ADAMS -- The Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Visitors Museum at Western Gateway Heritage State Park will present an illustrated lecture, "Wildfire Ecology," on Saturday, June 29 at 2 p.m.
Fire plays a major role in our ecosystems. But fire has always been a double-edged sword - it can both nurture and it can destroy. The ecology of wildfires is complex and controversial. This illustrated lecture will focus on the quest for balance and sensibility in dealing with wildfires.
Western Gateway Heritage State Park is located south of the Hadley Overpass on Route 8. The Visitors Museum is in Building 4. Information: 413-663-6312.
