Computer classes
NORTH ADAMS - The North Adams Public Library is starting a new four-week session of computer classes with Al Ell, with a beginner class starting Thursday, May 8.
The free classes begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Registration is required; all four sessions must be attended.

Anthony items
ADAMS - The Susan B. Anthony Birthplace Museum is seeking items related to Susan B. Anthony's life or to the period of her activist years (1820-1906).
The museum's board of directors will accept contributions or may purchase such artifacts as furnishings, clothing, textiles, documents, books, kitchen items, Quaker artifacts from the Berkshires or other materials.
Because Anthony was born in Adams and lived there until she was 6 years old (1820-1826), artifacts from the early 19th century, personal family items and suffrage items through her death in 1906 are of particular interest
Renovation plans have

BFAIR grant
NORTH ADAMS - Berkshire Family And Individual Resources has been awarded a new "Helping Hand" grant from the First Congregational Church of Williamstown to fund BFAIR's in-house training sessions with Edward Frampton, who has come forward to talk about life at Belchertown State School.
Frampton lived at Belchertown from the age of 5 to his early teens as well as on and off during his 20s. An advocate for people with developmental disabilities, Frampton speaks to staff about his personal experiences at Belchertown and answers questions.
The trainings are in line with "Walk a Mile in My Shoes," an initiative by the Department of Mental Retardation to create opportunities for caregivers to understand the needs of people with disabilities by "stepping into their shoes."

Tourist volunteers
NORTH ADAMS - The city of North Adams is seeking volunteers to staff its tourist booth on Union Street in front of the Windsor Mill.
The booth will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from June 1 through Oct. 13.
Volunteers may serve as little as a few hours a month. Scheduling is flexible.
Duties include handing out brochures and directing visitors to meals and lodging.
Orientation for new volunteers will be provided.
All volunteers will be feted at an appreciation brunch and informational session before the tourist booth season.
The brunch will include informational presentations from the city of North Adams, Mass MoCA and other tourist venues in the city. Volunteers will also receive a free gallery tour at MoCA. Info: 413-652-3246.
