Youth Center thanks volunteers

To the editor:

On Sunday, Feb. 3, the Williamstown Youth Center held its annual Snowfest celebration at the Williams College Towne Field House and Chapman Skating Rink. Snowfest provided a wonderful family celebration for our community and, at the same time, allowed the Youth Center to raise money to support the programs which serve the children of Williamstown and surrounding communities.

This is an historic year for the Youth Center, as we moved into our new facility in the beginning of November. This has allowed us to move into a facility that supports our programming and add new opportunities for the children. Furthermore, by locating our facility on the grounds of the elementary school, children are able to use the fields and gym at the school on a regular basis.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Youth Center, staff and, most importantly, families of our community, I would like to thank the following for their support with this event:

-- Williams College for allowing us to use their facilities.

-- Members of the Williamstown Youth Center Board of Directors for their tireless help.

-- The many Williams College Student-Athletes.

-- Goff’s Sports for the donation of ice skates.

-- Where’d You Get That!? for balloons.

-- Colonial Pizza for discounted food.

-- Rent-A-Center in North Adams for

TVs.

-- K.E.C. Party Rentals in East Longmeadow for discount.

-- Fun Enterprises for discount.

-- All of the volunteers who helped with so many aspects of the event.

-- Elinor Goodwin who coordinated the entire event.
