WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williamstown Chamber of Commerce will host "Chamber Night at the Museum" on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Williamstown Historical Museum, located at the Milne Public Library, 1095 Main St.
The Williamstown Historical Museum will unveil their latest exhibit "The History of Spring Street", curated by Rita Watson. The buildings, businesses and people of Spring Street will come to life in the "Then and Now" images with their accompanying descriptive text.
Visitors will learn more about the evolution of this charming part of town which was originally little more than a well-trodden lane leading to two springs at its southern end that supplied townspeople and college students with drinking water.
After years of development by residents, the College, and businesses, the street emerged into what is now a commercial "hub" of the town. The event is co-sponsored by Wild Oats Market and Dining Services at Williams College. Light refreshments and beverages will be complimentarily provided.
