WILLIAMSTOWN - The Regional District Amendment Committee is currently exploring the possibility of bringing Lanesborough and Williamstown Elementary schools into the Mt. Greylock Regional School District to create a preK-12 Region. The Community Outreach Task Group of this Committee is meeting with as many constituents as possible in April for some preliminary discussion. They will be sharing general pros and cons of expanding the Mt. Greylock region to include LES and WES, while leaving plenty of time for feedback, concerns, and questions that could guide the Committee as they move forward.
Steve Hemman, the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Association of Regional School Committees (MARS), will run the sessions along with members of the Committee. Information sessions are scheduled with seniors and town officials in both Lanesborough and Williamstown, PTO and Faculty groups at all three schools, and additionally with the Williams College community.
