WILLIAMSTOWN -- Mount Greylock Regional School District is proud to present a selection of oil paintings by Julia Morgan-Leamon in the school’s Art Gallery at 1781 Cold Spring Rd.
Morgan-Leamon is a renowned regional artist based in Williamstown.
She has held adjunct faculty positions in the Art Department at Williams College and MCLA and also teaches for IS 183. Morgan-Leamon’s work has been exhibited widely across the U.S. as well as in Egypt and Canada.
The exhibit at Mount Greylock, entitled, "Swimming to the Other Side," will run through the end of June.
"When we move into the water, we leave the land behind," Morgan-Leamon said about the series. "These paintings are about the in between-ness of human gesture, and the vulnerability inherent in that precarious, but typically human, experience."
The public is welcome to view the exhibition Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"We are so fortunate to have people of Julia’s caliber generously share their work with our students, school community and the public that comes to visit," Mount Greylock Art teacher Jane-Ellen DeSomma said. "Her work is stunningly beautiful."
