WILLIAMSTOWN -- Teens and tweens may now sign up for three free, hands-on, creative workshops at the Milne Public Library.
"Dig Deep into Graphic Novels," facilitated by graphic artist Emily Brannan, will run from July 8 to 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Each participant will create the beginnings of their own original graphic novel by the end of this workshop.
"Masks: On the Surface" will be facilitated by Bennington artist and calligrapher Ann Kremers. Participants will create sculptural masks from colored paper. Masks can vary from the simple to extremely complex, and can be expressive, transformative, or just plain fun. This workshop will take place on Thursday, July 18, from 1 to 4 p.m.
"Songwriting with Bernice Lewis," will run on Wednesday, July 31,from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants can bring instruments, a song they’ve written, or a favorite CD to share with others. You’ll learn about what makes a song work, how to edit your song, and what it means to be a songwriter today. This is an opportunity to listen and talk about music with an experienced singer/songwriter.
Sign up sheets for the teen programs are located in the children’s room, and a sign-up sheet for the Teen Summer Reading Program is located right outside of the children’s room. Info: milnelibrary.org.
