WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation will host its annual summer Open House and Ice Cream Social on Friday, July 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at its Sheep Hill headquarters. Sheep Hill, a former small dairy farm, is a unique property with stunning scenery, meadow trails and historic barns.
The Open House is a way to familiarize residents and visitors alike with the WRLF, Sheep Hill and other WRLF conservation properties, which are always open to the public for hiking and nature exploration.
The afternoon will feature nature activities, an interpretive hike of the meadow and local ice cream served with seasonal fruits. Visitors are encouraged to visit exhibits and explore Sheep Hill’s varied habitats and the new interpretive center. A $3 donation is suggested. The event will be held rain or shine. Bring a picnic supper and enjoy the evening by the pond after the program.
The Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation, a non-profit, member-supported land conservation trust, has been working to preserve the rural New England character of the area for more than 25 years. The WRLF sponsors nature education, local history and seasonal food events throughout the year.
SheepHill is located on Route 7, approximately one mile south of the Williamstown rotary.
