WILLIAMSTOWN -- Williams College Theatre Department presents a site-specific staging of Maria Irene Fornes’ groundbreaking drama "Fefu and Her Friends," directed by Robert Baker-White, Saturday, Oct. 5, at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 6, at 1 and 4:30 p.m. in the Oakley Center for Humanities and Social Sciences, 90 Denison Park Dr.
Premiering in 1977, the play by the Cuban-born playwright explores "the exhilarating, constant pain of women defining their roles in the ‘logical world of men.’"
Eight women gather in a New England country home. What transpires defies expectations, social norms and even, perhaps, the laws of physics and physiology. The Theatre Department’s site-specific presentation at the Oakley Center includes everything from root vegetables and water fights to guns and sacrifice.
Tickets are $3, and seating is limited.
