WILLIAMSTOWN -- The South Williamstown Community Association, in conjunction with IS 183 Art School, is sponsoring a Community Tag Sale along with the Berkshire Cardboard Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Little Red Schoolhouse, 32 New Ashford Rd.
IS 183 Art School of the Berkshires is holding classes and workshops at Little Red and the building continues to service the community with meeting space for the Girl Scouts and others who need a location for meetings and events.
The Tag Sale organizers are looking for individuals to buy a space for their own sales; prices are $25 for an 10-foot-by-8-foot space or $40 for a 20-foot-by-8-foot space. Unless they choose to make a donation, individuals will keep all proceeds from sales at their space. Proceeds from the sale of spaces and donations go to pay for the utility expenses of keeping Little Red open to the community. Everyone has stuff they don’t need anymore so this is a perfect opportunity to get rid of it.
All the publicity for the Tag Sale will be done by SWCA and IS 183 so this is an easy way to hold your own tag sale with minimal hassle. Oct. 5 is the official International Day of Play, and IS183 Art School of the Berkshires will join the celebration by hosting a Berkshire Cardboard Challenge on the Little Red site. All ages are encouraged to join the fun, using their imagination as they create arcade-like games out of cardboard.
Materials and attendance will be free, and artists will be on hand to guide the activity!
Food from local vendors will be available for sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration must be made by Oct. 1.
