WILLIAMSTOWN -- In conjunction with Teen Read Week, The Milne Public Library invites tweens and teens to submit an original piece of art (photograph, drawing, painting, sculpture) that has been inspired by a book they’ve read. Art pieces will be displayed at the library, and a small reception at the end of October or early November.
Please make submissions to Helen (in the children’s room) by Oct. 19, and label your piece with the name of the book which inspired you. Sixth graders and up are eligible to submit pieces, and ideally, your work (if it is two dimensional) should be able to fit into an 8-by-10-inch or 5-by-7-inch frame. If the piece happens to be bigger, accommodations can be made.
There will also be a book swap during this week, for paperbacks and comics: Take one, and leave one. Books can be old, but please, not damaged. A labeled box will be in the Teen Room (computer lab) towards the rear of the library, to drop off and pick up books.
